From birth to death, in the most difficult and complex moments of life, the guardian angel is a figure that accompanies us in faith on our journey through life.
Even in very ancient texts, such as the Old Testament, God is surrounded by a host of heavenly figures who worship Him and perform actions in His name. The guardian angels, the pope said, are the help "the Lord promises to his people and to us who walk the path of life." As companions and protectors, guardian angels are like "a human compass or a compass that resembles a human being and helps us see where to go" to avoid dangers along the way.
Christians, should heed God's command to "be attentive and obedient to their guardian angel" and listen to "their promptings, which always come from the Holy Spirit."
There are also many passages in the New Testament that speak of guardian angels, such as the passages dedicated to the Archangel Gabriel, the Archangel St. Michael, the Archangel Raphael, the Annunciation of the Angel to Mary, and many others.
