The sculpture captures the majestic and culminating instant of the celestial battle, depicting Archangel Michael in his definitive triumph over evil. Despite the dynamic action, the Archangel's face expresses a serene and composed calmness, a symbol of spiritual power exercised effortlessly. His gaze, slightly lowered, watches over the eternal defeat of the demonic figure.
Every detail has been sculpted with masterful craftsmanship: from the large, richly layered and gilded wings, to the anatomical armor that reflects light with silver and gold finishes. The cloak, draped in a vibrant antique red, adds depth and movement to the composition, contrasting with the dark, earthy tone of the defeated figure, who lies beneath his heel.
This powerful representation is carefully carved according to the centuries-old tradition of Val Gardena. To ensure maximum fidelity of detail at every scale, the sculpture is made of precious maple wood for sizes up to 56 cm and in the more robust linden wood for larger sizes. In addition to the rich polychrome version (C), it is available in a natural finish (N), in three shades of brown (3G) or in exclusive Italian olive wood (U), to perfectly adapt to any sacred or domestic environment.
