Description

A masterpiece of faith and craftsmanship, the sculpture of Saint Ottilia captures the eye with its rich colors and fluid drapery. The main garment, an intense and glossy teal blue, is wrapped in a golden cloak that simulates the preciousness of gold leaf. The serene and contemplative expression of the face is in perfect harmony with the devout pose, while the delicate features and downward-turned eyes instill a sense of peace.

Every element, from the intricately carved crown to the richly detailed golden chalice, is the result of the mastery of the sculptors of Val Gardena, who pass down centuries-old techniques. The polychromy is hand-painted, enhancing chromatic contrasts such as the salmon orange of the undergarment and the dark green of the palm.

This precious work is made with the utmost care. To ensure the best aesthetic rendering in every size, the statue is carved in maple wood for sizes up to 56cm, ideal for minute details, and in linden wood for larger sizes, ensuring lightness and stability for more imposing sculptures. It is available in Colored (C), Natural (N), and Three shades of brown (3G) finishes.
