Nestled in the contemplative peace of Val Gardena, the statue of Saint Flora Martyr stands as a masterpiece of faith and Dolfi artisan craftsmanship. The figure strikes with its regal grace, enhanced by the rich palette of colors that give it an unmistakable antique charm.
The deep green of the mantle, which wraps the figure in densely detailed drapery, is expertly contrasted by golden finishes, shining on the elaborate crown and the inside of the robe. The serene and contemplative expression, with downcast eyes, instills a sense of peace, despite the emblems of martyrdom she holds in her hands. The details are carved with millimeter precision: from the stylized silver-gray breastplate to the delicacy of the open book with the dagger.
Each Dolfi sculpture is a unique piece carved with passion. This model is made of maple wood, prized for its fine grain and ability to retain details, for sizes up to 56 cm. For larger sizes, up to a majestic 200 cm, the more robust and suitable linden wood is used. The finish, meticulously hand-painted with a semi-matte technique, enhances the three-dimensionality and sacred value of the work, making it a focal point for domestic or liturgical devotion.
