This St. Padre Pio of Pietralcina wooden sculpture is finished by hand carving and is hand painted with oil colors by brush, in the Dolfi Studios in Ortisei, Val Gardena, Dolomites, Italy from professional Dolfi artists and artisans. Oil colors are used to give to the wood carved figure a natural and unique personal look. on this St. Padre Pio of Pietralcina hand made wood carving, there are over 70 hand made processes, that only skilled hands of Dolfi artisans that learned the job over many years, can create. Saint Padre Pio was born Francesco in Forgione May 25th, 1887 at Pietrelcina, in the province of Benevento. He took the name of """"Fra Pio"""" on January 22nd, 1904. on the 10th of August 1910 Padre Pio was ordained as priest few weeks later, on 8 September he received the stigmata. It's interesting that Padre Pio is the only case of a priest that stigmatized. Padre Pio calls in small in a remote monastery of San Giovanni Rotondo on July 22nd, 1916, where he remained until his death on September 23rd, 1968. on the 5th of September 1918 came the first phenomenon and a short time later his stigmata became permanent. the stigmata miraculously after his death, left no trace or scar. on the 18th December 1997 the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II declared Padre Pio Venerable. on the 2nd of May 1999 Padre Pio was proclaimed blessed.

Story
Padre Pio da Pietrelcina, born Francesco Forgione on May 25, 1887, was a Capuchin friar and priest. Known for having received the stigmata on September 8, 1910, a phenomenon that made him the only stigmatized priest known. His life was dedicated to faith and service, spending much of his ministry in the convent of San Giovanni Rotondo, where he died on September 23, 1968. The stigmata, which became permanent after the transverberation of September 5, 1918, miraculously disappeared at the time of his death without leaving a trace. His holiness was recognized by the Church: declared Venerable on December 18, 1997 by Pope John Paul II, he was proclaimed Blessed on May 2, 1999. His figure is venerated for his profound spirituality, the miracles attributed to him, and his tireless commitment to confession and spiritual direction.
