Be moved by the deep spirituality of the statue of Saint James the Greater, entirely hand-carved according to the centuries-old tradition of Val Gardena. This sculpture captures the essence of the pilgrim with unparalleled craftsmanship.
The serene and contemplative expression of the Saint, with his gaze fixed forward, conveys a sense of calm and determination. Every element is rendered with meticulous detail: from the wide-brimmed hat to the rich drapery of the long robe, which falls in dynamic vertical folds, perfectly simulating the softness of the fabric.
The distinctive symbols of the pilgrimage are highlighted: the scallop shells carved on the short cloak, the sturdy bourdon (staff) in his left hand and the sacred book in his right, along with the two bags hanging from the shoulder strap and at his side. The finish, made in shades of brown and reddish-brown, emphasizes the natural grain and texture of the wood, giving the figure a seasoned and authentic look.
For all available sizes (from 60 cm to 150 cm), this imposing work is made of precious linden wood, a material favored by master carvers for large sculptures, ensuring durability and exceptional detail thanks to its compact and homogeneous fiber.
