Unique piece available. This Saint Ignatius of Loyola statue, 120 cm tall, is a sacred artwork of rare excellence, entirely hand-carved and hand-painted by the artisans of Val Gardena according to the centuries-old Dolfi tradition.
Every millimetre of this monumental sculpture is the result of weeks of manual work: from carving the linden wood - chosen for its compactness and suitability for large formats - to the multi-layer oil painting and the gilding of the iconographic details. The result is a work that cannot be replicated: no other identical piece exists.
The figure is depicted in its classic iconography: the ascetic and determined face, the black cassock with its typical buttons, the Spiritual Exercises book held in the hands and the radiant IHS symbol on the chest. The upright posture and the depth of the gaze convey the spiritual and intellectual strength of the Saint.
Ideal for churches, chapels, sacristies, museums of sacred art and high-level private collections. A work destined to last for centuries.
