The sculpture of St. Germanus Bishop captures a moment of deep contemplation. The composed expression and gaze directed towards the open book, where a calamus (or pen) rests, imbue the work with a sense of wisdom and devotion. Admire the richness of the vestments: the mitre and cream-toned tunic elegantly contrast with the broad reddish-brown robe, creating an intense and regal chromatic effect.
Every detail is expertly crafted. The golden crozier, a symbol of his spiritual guidance, features a finely carved volute that reflects the excellence of sculptural art. The polished gold finishes, meticulously applied to the edges of the vestments and the pallium, are made with gold leaf applications or precious metallic paint, enhancing the three-dimensionality and sacred value of the sculpture.
This work is the highest expression of Dolfi craftsmanship, created with dedication in the sculptural tradition of Val Gardena. The choice of wood is calibrated according to size to ensure its stability and beauty over time: Made of maple wood for sizes up to 56cm and lime wood for other dimensions. Available in colored (C) finishes, like the one depicted that enhances every nuance, or natural (N), to appreciate the pure essence of the wood.
