The statue of Pope Saint Caius is a masterpiece of faith and craftsmanship, hand-carved by our artisans in Val Gardena. The figure is depicted in a pose of solemn spirituality: his gaze of deep contemplation is directed towards the sacred book he holds in his left hand, while authority is symbolized by the golden crosier held in his right.
The rich pontifical vestments, dominated by a vibrant red-brown (terracotta), are enhanced by wide borders and golden ornaments. These shiny finishes, made with high-quality golden paint or gold leaf, give the sculpture discreet luxury and sacred luminosity, highlighting the meticulous carving of the folds.
Faithful to the Dolfi tradition and the logic of alpine materials, this sculpture is made of maple wood for sizes up to 56 cm, ensuring maximum definition in minute details. For larger sizes, starting from 60 cm, linden wood is used, ideal for ensuring stability and magnificence for monumental works. The dark brown octagonal base, also finished with golden motifs, ensures stability and an elegant presentation in any environment.
