Contemplate the majesty of the sculpture of Saint Augustine, a masterpiece that captures the spiritual intensity of the Doctor of the Church. The figure, erect and draped in rich fabric, expresses a profound serenity, with its gaze directed upwards, a gesture that underlines its search for divine Truth and the ardor of its burning heart.
The ecclesiastical vestments, richly decorated (white mitre, red robe, golden stole), are highlighted by vibrant polychromy which, in the Coloured (C) finish, enhances the details with full and semi-gloss pigments. The alternative Three shades of brown (3G) instead celebrates the natural grain of the wood with warm and defined tones. Every fold of the drapery, from the flow of the robe to the solemn placement of the open book and the crozier, testifies to the supreme skill of the sculptors of Val Gardena.
This work is carved with the utmost care according to the centuries-old Dolfi tradition. Made of precious maple wood for sizes up to 56 cm and sturdy linden wood for larger sizes, it guarantees longevity and impeccable definition of every detail, making it a focal point of high artistic and spiritual value.
