This sculpture captures a moment of vibrant liveliness: a lamb standing upright, lifting its head and opening its mouth, as if caught in the act of bleating. The expression, given by its open eyes and dynamic pose, imparts a sense of immediacy and realism to the nativity scene.
The craftsmanship of Val Gardena shines in the meticulous detailing of the fleece. The wool is rendered through a sculptural texture of rounded, overlapping tufts, which give extraordinary three-dimensionality and the illusion of soft, thick wool. The contrast between the whiteness of its features and the accurate painting of its hooves and muzzle details enhances its purity.
According to our tradition, the Dolfi Lamb is entirely made from precious maple wood, the ideal material for sculptures of these dimensions (up to 56 cm). This choice ensures a perfect rendition of the most minute details, such as the realism of the reddish-brown hooves and the internal coloring of the mouth. It is available in various finishes, ranging from vibrant and naturalistic colors to natural maple wood, and even a three-shade brown finish that enhances its grain and warmth.
