Description

Time takes the form of a handcrafted masterpiece with the Traditional Chalet Cuckoo Clock. This piece captures the essence of the Alpine forest and Val Gardena craftsmanship, transforming every hour into a small emotional and auditory event.

The case, which evokes a cozy mountain chalet, is made of solid wood with a dark, deep finish that enhances its rich grain. The entire structure, measuring 45 cm, is a triumph of carved details: the roof and facade are embellished with floral motifs and meticulously reproduced maple or oak leaves. Decorative light wood strips create an elegant visual contrast, highlighting the precision of the manual work.

The dark dial features elegant Roman numerals and gilded hands. Pinecone-shaped weights and the metal chain hang gracefully, completing the rustic and alpine aesthetic. At the heart of this work of art is a weekly precision mechanism, renowned for its reliability, which celebrates the union between the excellence of Val Gardena carving and European watchmaking quality.

Detail & Meaning
The cuckoo clock, with its chalet-inspired aesthetic, is more than just a timekeeper: it is a powerful domestic symbol. The house shape represents stability, welcome, and alpine roots. The carvings of leaves, branches, and the pine cones below symbolize the forest, lush nature, and the continuous cycle of time and seasons. The sound of the cuckoo, chiming the hour unexpectedly, is tied to folk tradition as a call to joy, remembrance, and the inexorable yet natural passage of life.
Story
Although wood carving is the ultimate expression of Val Gardena, the history of the cuckoo clock mechanism is traditionally associated with the Black Forest, Germany, since the 17th century. It was in Val Gardena, however, that the object was elevated to a new artistic level. Local carvers, renowned for their mastery, adopted and reinterpreted the clock case, enriching the designs with naturalistic and architectural details typical of the Dolomite region, transforming the functional object into a true decorative and sculptural work of art.
