The Dolfi Crucifix is a work of profound spirituality and sculptural mastery, capturing the supreme moment of Sacrifice. The meticulous attention to anatomical details conveys the weight and suffering of Christ's body: visible ribs, tense muscles, and a tilted head expressing final surrender. The wounds on the hands, feet, and side are highlighted with reddish-brown tones, lending realism and pathos, inviting deep meditation.
On the cross, of a dark, opaque, and uniform brown, the "INRI" tablet stands out, finished in a vibrant, shiny gold color. The drapery of the loincloth is rendered with great dynamism, creating a visual and sculptural contrast with the suffering figure.
True to the artisanal tradition of Val Gardena, our sculptors use only selected woods. This Crucifix is made of maple wood for sizes up to 56 cm, ensuring minute details and precision in smaller variations, and of linden wood for larger sizes (starting from 56 cm), which require greater stability and structural strength. You can choose the finish best suited to your environment, from the classic Natural (N) to the exclusive Gold Leaf (CV) or the particular three-shade brown (3G) colorations.
