The figure of Jesus Christ is sculpted with extraordinary attention to anatomical detail, highlighting abandonment and suffering. The polychromy, made with the traditional oil-painted technique, gives the flesh a pale and realistic tone, in dramatic contrast with the wounds ignited by bright red shades.
The elegance of the Baroque style is evident in the cross: a dark stained wooden structure, whose trilobed ends are embellished with a thin frame of polished gold or brass, enhancing its shape. Particular emphasis is given to the perizoma (or loincloth), treated with a rich gold leaf finish, which creates a voluminous and brilliant drapery, a symbol of Christ's regal dignity even at the moment of sacrifice.
To ensure maximum fidelity and longevity of the work, the crucifix is made of maple wood for sizes up to 56cm and linden wood for other dimensions. Each piece is hand-finished by expert artisans, bringing a symbol of profound faith and eternal beauty into your home or place of worship.
