Made entirely of maple wood, as is traditional for our sculptures under 56 cm, this mushroom captures the essence of Val Gardena. The object enhances a surprising material contrast, the result of meticulous craftsmanship. The robust and rounded shape of the cap and stem is enhanced by sanding, which highlights the light and bright grain of the internal wood.
The outer edge of the cap, however, retains its natural bark, rough and dark, creating a clear and fascinating boundary line. This duality between smooth and rough, between light and dark, gives the object a unique visual depth. The finish is kept natural, enhancing the intrinsic elegance of the wood without the use of coloring, making each piece a timeless furnishing detail.
