Born from the mastery of sculptors in Val Gardena, this Lucky Owl is a unique piece that celebrates the rough and untouched beauty of nature. It is not just a sculpture, but a fragment of the forest transformed into an amulet of good omen.
The work stands out for its choice to fully preserve the natural bark, which constitutes most of the body, giving the Owl a rustic, tactile and vibrant appearance, with its grooves and shades ranging from dark brown to reddish. This raw texture creates a surprising contrast with the carved and smoothed parts.
The large, wide-open and attentive eyes are made from the light pine wood underneath, highlighting the curious fixity typical of the owl. The minimal beak and slight protrusions on the head complete the expression of wise vigilance, making each specimen a small, unrepeatable artisanal masterpiece.
According to the Dolfi sculptural tradition, the soul of this statuette (10 cm) was shaped from precious pine wood, known for its fine grain and compactness, ideal for small-sized sculptures, ensuring lasting beauty and stability.
