In this delightful sculpture, the craftsmanship of Val Gardena captures a moment of pure innocence and tenderness. The little girl, dressed in a terracotta-toned dress and a bright golden-yellow apron, stands gracefully, her head slightly tilted in a gesture of affectionate care. Attention focuses on her precious burdens: a small basket overflowing with colorful flowers and a second, larger woven basket, in which she tenderly holds a small animal, perhaps a lamb or a rabbit.
Every detail is a testament to Dolfi's mastery: from the delicate braids tied with green ribbons to the figure's feet, where small yellow leaves and flowers decorate the base. The apron stands out for its decoration of small white floral motifs, typical of Alpine decorative painting. The finish, expertly applied by hand, is veiled, allowing a glimpse of the warm grain of the wood underneath, giving the work a lived-in and authentic appearance.
