The sculpture of Saint Dorothy captures the essence of purity and faith through the excellence of Gardenese craftsmanship. This representation is a hymn to sculptural mastery, where every fold of the drapery and every expression of the face is shaped with devotion and precision.
The chosen colors enhance the figure's regality: the main dark teal dress is richly draped and embellished with extensive and luminous gold leaf gilding. These metallic accents bring brightness to the crown, the edges of the mantle, and symbolic details, creating a vibrant contrast with the natural tones of the skin and flowers.
The serenity of the face, with its contemplative and slightly tilted gaze, instills a sense of peace. Each statue is a unique piece, hand-carved and hand-painted by our expert artisans from Val Gardena. To ensure maximum fidelity and durability over time, the work is made of maple wood for sizes up to 56cm and linden wood for other dimensions, following the ancient sculptural tradition passed down from generation to generation. This sculpture is the highest expression of our sacred art.
