A sculptural representation that captures the dignity and devotion of the Magi King Melchior, in the solemn act of presenting his royal gift. The statue stands out for its lavish golden finish, expertly applied to evoke the richness of gold leaf, giving non-uniform texture and luminosity that beautifully reflect the light of the nativity scene.
The precious container, a symbol of Gold, contrasts with a metallic silver finish, carefully worked to suggest antiquity and value. The opaque complexion and sober headdress further enhance the richness of the robe. The serene and contemplative expression of the King, framed by a thick beard expertly painted with brown and grey shades, adds a profound emotion to the scene.
Every detail, from the small shiny dots of bright red, emerald green, and blue that embellish the golden robe, to the soft grey-blue tunic underneath, is meticulously hand-crafted by Dolfi artisans. The sculpture is masterfully carved in precious maple wood for smaller sizes (up to 28 cm). The 56 cm variant, instead, is carved in linden wood, ensuring stability and impeccable definition for all available sizes.
