Relive the magic of the most beloved fairy tale with this splendid Barometer House, a masterpiece of carving that combines the enchantment of Hansel and Gretel with the functionality of a weather instrument. This wooden sculpture, created by the skilled hands of our Val Gardena artisans, faithfully reproduces a charming alpine dwelling, enriched with details that tell the famous story.
Observe the precision with which the log building was crafted, with its red brick roof and delicate windows adorned with carved hearts. In the center, the scene comes to life: young Hansel and Gretel stand beside an adult figure, while on the right, the hunched and menacing figure of the witch, leaning on her staff, awaits. Each character, from expressions to costumes, is hand-painted with vibrant colors and a semi-matte finish that enhances the natural texture of the wood.
Attention to detail is visible on the upper facade, with the pretzel-shaped carving and the fairy tale title. In the center of the arch, in addition to the thermometer that measures Celsius and Fahrenheit, a barometric mechanism indicates changes in the weather thanks to two characters in traditional attire who move. This 18 cm tall piece is entirely carved and finished using precious maple wood, the choice of excellence for our sculptures under 56 cm, ensuring strength and exceptional definition in every small detail.
