This traditional wooden weather station is a unique handmade object, hand-decorated and based on an ancient weather-prediction system. It uses ox sinew, a natural material that is extremely sensitive to atmospheric humidity. As humidity changes, the sinew shortens or lengthens, activating a mechanism that rotates the panel with the woman and man in traditional dress:

Fine weather / dry air: The sinew shortens and the woman appears.
Rain / humid air: The sinew lengthens and the man appears.

The two stylised figures symbolise innocence, simplicity and a harmonious connection with the cycles of nature.
