Admire the majesty and profound serenity of the sculpture of Saint Isidore of Seville, a work that embodies the wisdom and devotion of Val Gardena carving. The figure of the Bishop is captured in a moment of contemplation, with his gaze cast down towards the open book, a symbol of his immense doctrine.
His vestments are a triumph of chromatic details: the rich burgundy red cope contrasts magnificently with the cream-colored stole, both embellished with meticulous golden arabesques and a glittering pectoral cross. The crozier, finely carved and entirely gilded, completes the image of spiritual authority.
This sculpture is crafted following the centuries-old tradition of Val Gardena craftsmanship. Sizes up to 56 cm are carved from precious maple wood, known for its fineness and compactness, while sizes from 56 cm upwards are made from robust linden wood, ideal for large works. The polychrome finish enhances the richness of the details, with the sumptuous episcopal vestments rendered vibrant and adorned with refined gold leaf decorations, masterfully applied to the edges of the cope and accessories.
