This quartz cuckoo clock is a compact, decorative model, ideal for anyone who loves the cuckoo tradition combined with the convenience of a modern movement. The cuckoo calls every hour with a natural echo, while the wooden dial and brown finish give it a warm, authentic look.

The chalet design is the epitome of alpine life, evoking a sense of domestic warmth, shelter and connection with nature. The small hearts carved beneath the eaves and on the shutters are universal symbols of love and welcome, rooted in Tyrolean decoration. The owl, set to watch over time, is traditionally associated with wisdom, vigilance and knowledge. In this context it suggests time measured with care and awareness, making the clock a silent, knowing guardian of the home.

The cuckoo clock has deep roots in the craft tradition of the Black Forest in Germany, where from the 17th century onwards it developed into a masterpiece of mechanics and wood carving. Originally created to give carvers work through the long winters, its design evolved into several forms, including the iconic "Chalet" (or forester's house) model that reproduces alpine dwellings in miniature. Although the cuckoo mechanism is intrinsically German, its later spread throughout the Alps made it a favourite subject for the craftspeople of Val Gardena too, who applied their centuries-old talent for carving and painting to decorate and personalise these fascinating time machines.
