A sculpture that captures the essence of devotion and care: our contemplative Shepherd stands out for his collected pose and deep serenity. The man, with a thick beard sculpted into voluminous curls, has his head tilted forward, with his gaze fixed on the round object he holds firmly to his chest. The expression, despite its simplicity, conveys a sense of inner peace and profound humility.
This artifact, a testament to the excellence of Val Gardena, is entirely handcrafted by our master artisans. The surfaces visibly retain the traces of manual carving, lending a unique texture, particularly visible on the drapery of the robe and on the beard. Depending on the chosen variant, the sculpture is finished with delicate hand coloring (variant C) or left natural with a transparent wax that enhances its warm grain (variant N).
For all available sizes (11 cm, 15 cm, 22 cm), the statue is carved from precious Maple Wood, chosen for its fine grain and resistance, ideal for reproducing the peaceful expression of the Shepherd and the detail of the bowl which symbolizes offering or tending the flock.
