A sculpture that embodies serene episcopal wisdom. Saint Rupert is depicted in an upright and contemplative pose, with his gaze fixed on the open book he lovingly holds to his chest — a symbol of his evangelizing work. On the book, he holds the famous salt barrel, an iconographic attribute that recalls his fundamental role in the development of the salt mines in Salzburg, a city that owes its name precisely to this precious resource.
The ecclesiastical vestments are masterfully carved and painted. The deep reddish-brown of the chasuble contrasts with the ivory whiteness of the alb and miter, both embellished with rich and brilliant gilding. Every detail, from the finely adorned crozier to the edges of the vestments, is finished with a luster that simulates real gold, enhancing the polychrome mastery of the artisans of Val Gardena.
Dolfi Quality and Materials: This statue is available in different finishes — colored (C) and natural (N) — and in a wide range of sizes.
