This sculpture of Saint Rita of Cascia represents the sublime encounter between traditional sacred art and a contemporary minimalist aesthetic. The tall, hieratic figure is a tribute to simplicity and devotion that transcends time. The monastic habit, rendered in a warm, earthy dark brown, catches the light on its folds with light shades, enhancing the three-dimensionality of the work.
What is striking is the purity of the lines: the face is left completely smooth, devoid of facial features, inviting the observer to a deeper and more universal contemplation of the concept of Faith. The clasped hands, holding a simple wooden crucifix, and the side rosary are the only details that break the rigorous essentiality of the design, focusing attention on the gesture of prayer.
Each statue is the result of the skill of the master artisans of Val Gardena, who carve wood with millimetric precision. Available in different precious woods to adapt to every devotional space: from colored or natural maple wood, to colored ash wood, up to rare Italian olive wood.
For sizes up to 56 cm, the sculpture is made of maple wood, known for its fine grain and excellent detail rendering. For sizes from 60 cm upwards, however, linden wood is used, guaranteeing stability and majesty even in the most imposing and large works.
