The statue of Saint Juliana is a masterpiece of wood carving that captures the triumph of virtue over temptation. The Saint is depicted in a pose of regal serenity, draped in garments of rich terracotta red and brilliant gold hues, symbols of her dignity and martyrdom. The details are executed with meticulous care, typical of Val Gardena craftsmanship: from the simple crown gracing her head, to the decorative patterns of her bodice, and to the contemplative expression on her face.
Beside her, in a powerful iconographic contrast, lies the small dark figure of evil, held firmly at bay by a silver chain descending from the Saint's hand. This dramatic composition is enhanced by the hand-painted finish, which lends luster and depth to the colors, especially in the colored (C) and three-tone (3G) variants.
Each sculpture is unique, carved by master artisans according to centuries-old tradition. Made of maple wood for sizes up to 56cm and lime wood for other sizes, this piece guarantees exceptional durability and definition, whether the colored (C), natural (N), or antique (3G) finish is chosen.
