This magnificent sculpture captures St. Francesca Romana in her monastic habit, an expression of profound serenity and contemplation. The figure, characterized by rich and flowing drapery in shades of dark brown and ochre, holds in her left hand the palm of spiritual victory and in her right an open book. The focal point is the delicate and precious golden statuette of the Guardian Angel, placed on the sacred text, testifying to her devotion and celestial visions.
Each statue is a masterpiece of carving, created with the age-old skill of the artisans of Val Gardena. Dolfi's excellence is expressed in the choice of materials: sizes up to 56 cm are carved in maple wood, known for its compactness ideal for fine details. For larger dimensions (starting from 60 cm), linden wood is used, which ensures stability and majesty. The finish, meticulously hand-painted with shades and chiaroscuro, gives depth and emotional realism, making each piece unique.
