The sculpture of Saint Conrad Confalonieri captures the essence of devotion and penance in a masterpiece of Val Gardena wood carving. The artist Dolfi has managed to infuse an expression of deep serenity and contemplation into the face of the Saint, reclined in a gesture of humble prayer. The figure is dressed in the austere monastic habit, rendered vibrant through meticulous hand painting that uses different shades of brown to enhance the folds of the fabric and create an effect of extraordinary depth and realism.
Every detail is carefully crafted: from the cord with three knots to the Crucifix held in his right hand. The matte and warm finish enhances the quality of the carving, which brings life to the drapes of the habit and the upright, meditative posture.
This sacred work of art guarantees superior quality thanks to the selection of traditional Val Gardena materials. For sizes up to 56 cm, the sculpture is made of maple wood, known for its fine carving; for statues from 60 cm upwards, precious linden wood is used, ensuring robustness and finely sculpted details for every size.
