A masterpiece of faith and artisanal skill: the statue of Saint Benjamin of Persia captures the essence of devotion through the sublime sculptural art of Val Gardena. The upright figure stands out for its solemn and contemplative pose, enveloped in drapery rich in volume and movement, testifying to the profound skill of our sculptors.
The Saint's expression, characterized by a thick beard and meticulously carved curly hair, is one of deep seriousness, with his gaze directed downwards in a sign of meditation. The chromatic details enhance the richness of the subject: the cloak features intense terracotta-red hues and, above all, large sections finished with bright gold leaf, which lends sacredness and a vibrant play of light, in contrast with the sober earthy tones of the tunic underneath.
Each statue is a unique piece, hand-carved and finished by our expert Dolfi artisans. In accordance with tradition and to ensure maximum quality in every size, the sculpture is made of maple wood for sizes up to 56 cm and linden wood for larger sizes. This combination ensures minute details in the smaller variants and ideal majesty in large depictions.
