The figure of Saint Anthony of Padua, one of the most revered Saints in the world, is reinterpreted here through a lens of purity and modernity. The sculpture captures a moment of profound serenity: the Friar, with his habit and the hint of the cincture, tenderly holds the Child Jesus in his arms, a symbol of love and protection. He also holds a small bunch of lilies, a symbol of his chastity and innocence.
The style is essential and contemporary, characterized by smooth, rounded forms that impart a sense of peace and harmony to the environment. The faces of the figures are deliberately stylized, lacking features, to enhance the universal spiritual message beyond figurative detail. The finish, played on natural shades of brown, beige, and cream, is matte and sober, enhancing the wood grain without excessive polish, maintaining a refined and understated aesthetic.
Made entirely by hand according to the centuries-old sculptural tradition of Val Gardena, this Saint Anthony statue expresses artisanal mastery through simplicity. Our wooden sculptures are made with selected materials to ensure maximum quality and detail. For smaller sizes (up to 56 cm), Maple wood is used, known for its fine grain. For larger statues (from 56 cm upwards), we choose Lime wood, ideal for ensuring stability and imposing presence. A true work of sacred and devotional art, perfect for contemplation.
