The expression of the Virgin, with her eyes gently lowered and her lips slightly parted, conveys a contemplative serenity, while the Child, nestled against her cheek, casts a gentle gaze upwards. The volumes are enhanced by the rich chromatic palette: the dark blue-grey mantle envelops the figures with a realistic and deep drapery, contrasting with the warm tone of the dress and the delicate flesh tones. Every detail, from the Child's clasped hands to the finely sculpted locks of hair, testifies to the artist's absolute care.
