The Madonna of the Sanctuary of Sameiro is a masterpiece of wooden sculpture that infuses solemnity and grace into any environment. The Virgin is depicted in a regal and composed pose, with a sweet and contemplative gaze that radiates peace. Her mantle, in an intense teal blue-green, is embellished with an elaborate golden border with floral motifs that emphasize its sacredness and majesty.
Every detail is crafted with meticulous precision: from the rich crown adorning her head, to the delicate winged cherubs supporting the cloud base, to the eloquent gesture of her hands – one on her chest as a sign of devotion, the other in a gesture of blessing. The serenity of her face, in contrast to the opulence of her dress, enhances the spiritual purity of the subject.
This sculpture is an expression of the ancient art of Val Gardena. It is sculpted and then meticulously polychromed by hand in our workshop, with gold leaf finishes that give it a vibrant and lasting luminosity. Made of maple wood for sizes up to 56 cm, and linden wood for larger dimensions, this piece combines the resilience of alpine essences with the finesse of artistic execution, ensuring a work of faith destined to last over time.
