Our Lady of Fatima is a Marian title linked to the apparitions that occurred in 1917 in Cova da Iria, near Fatima, in Portugal. Three young shepherd children, Lucia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto, witnessed six apparitions of the Virgin Mary between May and October. The Madonna called for prayer, especially the Rosary, penance, and conversion for world peace and the salvation of souls. She also asked for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart. The apparitions culminated in the "Miracle of the Sun" on October 13, which was seen by tens of thousands of people. Fatima has become one of the most important Marian shrines in the world, a destination for pilgrimages and a symbol of hope and faith, with a message of peace and conversion that still resonates today.
