Bring the tenderness of the holiest moment into your Nativity scene with DOLFI’s Raffaello Nativity Set: Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus united in a harmonious composition.

The figures are made from fine Val Gardena maple wood and hand-painted in oil with vivid, long-lasting colours. The Raffaello model stands out for its delicate features and serene expressions, softly draped garments and carefully rendered details, from the hands to the folds of the mantles.

Mary is shown adoring the Child, her blue mantle falling gracefully. Joseph watches over them with a protective gaze, holding a shepherd’s staff. Baby Jesus lies in the manger, completing the scene with a gentle, welcoming pose.

A sacred work of art to be passed down from generation to generation.

The Holy Family is the theological heart of the Nativity scene: Mary embodies divine motherhood and welcome, Joseph represents quiet protection and active faith, and Baby Jesus is the Word made flesh. The Raffaello model expresses these meanings through sculpture: serene faces evoke inner peace, while the soft folds of the garments recall the classical iconography of Renaissance painting. Each figure is designed to complement the others, creating a harmonious composition that invites contemplation of the mystery of the Nativity.

The Nativity scene tradition, introduced by Saint Francis of Assisi in Greccio in 1223, found one of its finest expressions in Val Gardena. The Raffaello model draws on this artistic heritage: a tribute to the Holy Family that brings together the spirituality of the Nativity and the artistic tradition of the Dolomites, making a Nativity scene a family treasure.
