The sculpture captures the compassionate essence of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, depicted in her iconic white habit bordered with blue, a symbol of the Missionaries of Charity. With a gesture of welcome and offering, her left arm extends forward and downward, while her right hand clutches a rosary, reflecting her life of prayer and service. Her face, marked by time and wrinkles, shows profound seriousness and dedication, with her gaze slightly lowered conveying humility.
Every detail of the drapery, from the veil to the folds of the sari, is meticulously crafted by the master sculptors of Val Gardena. This artwork is available in various finishes, including the elegant hand-painted version that enhances the purity of its lines with the faithful application of blue stripes.
Following our artisanal tradition, statues up to 56 cm are carved from precious Maple Wood, known for its fine grain and ease of detailing. For larger sizes (from 60 cm to 200 cm), the artwork is made from sturdy Lime Wood, ensuring durability and sculptural majesty for any sacred environment.
