L'Orologio a Cucù (Kuckucksuhr) trova le sue radici nella regione tedesca della Foresta Nera (Schwarzwald) intorno al XVII secolo. Ideato inizialmente da orologiai locali, divenne rapidamente un'icona mondiale grazie alla sua caratteristica distintiva: l'uccellino meccanico che esce ad annunciare le ore. I design tradizionali sono ispirati all'architettura e alla flora montana. Sebbene l'origine del meccanismo sia tedesca, la maestria nell'intaglio di Dolfi applica la secolare tradizione scultorea della Val Gardena, rinomata a livello internazionale per la sua precisione e la cura dei dettagli, trasformando la struttura lignea in una scultura d'arredo unica e duratura.
