This sculpture captures a moment of tender devotion and teaching, depicting Saint Anne and her illustrious daughter, the Child Mary. The work stands out for its exceptional compositional balance: Saint Anne's serene expression and her solemn gesture of blessing, as she holds the book of Wisdom, blend with the devout attention of young Mary, whose hands are clasped in prayer in a gesture of profound humility.
Attention to detail is evident in the rich chromaticism of the drapery: the garments are masterfully rendered with shades of blue-violet and peach, embellished by a rich golden mantle that simulates the preciousness of gold leaf. Every element testifies to the unparalleled mastery of the sculptors of Val Gardena. The figures rest on an elegant hexagonal pedestal that enhances their magnificence.
Materials and Craftsmanship: The statue is carved and finished with the utmost care and precision. Being available in a wide range of sizes, the wooden essence is selected to ensure the perfect sculptural rendering: sizes up to 56 cm are made of Maple Wood, known for its compactness and ability to retain the finest details. Large works, from 60 cm upwards, are instead carved from precious Linden Wood, essential for stability and monumental magnificence. It is possible to choose between colored (polychrome), natural, or three shades of brown finishes.
