The sculpture "Verena" captures the pure innocence and sweetness of childhood. This figurine is a masterpiece of meticulous craftsmanship, depicting a little girl in a thoughtful pose, with a dreamy gaze and large blue eyes that invite contemplation.
Her dress, painted in warm shades of orange, is a triumph of details: from the puffy sleeves finished in white lace to the starry pattern decorating the wide skirt. Her ginger braids, adorned with small roses, frame a face with a quiet and serene expression. Every fold of the dress and every curl are masterfully sculpted and then enhanced by hand-painting that uses satin effects and shades to give depth and three-dimensionality. The reddish-brown Mary Janes, also with a small floral detail, complete a picture of rare tenderness.
Made according to the sculptural tradition of Val Gardena, the statuette is carved from precious maple wood, the material of choice for Dolfi creations of these dimensions (10 cm and 15 cm).
