A hymn to joy and celestial harmony, this exquisite Dolfi sculpture captures a winged putto in an instant of pure melody. The figure is caught in a dynamic and light pose, suggesting an ethereal flight as the cherub brings a small wind instrument to its lips. The serene and focused expression on the face is enhanced by the meticulous painting, which gives the sculpture a unique tactile and visual depth.
The chromatic details are exceptionally refined: the opaque and smooth complexion, with slight pinkish nuances, contrasts with the vibrant gilding of the wings and the lower drapery, carefully finished by hand in a warm and satin tone. An elegant antique pink drapery wraps around the shoulder, adding a touch of grace. Every element, from the voluminous curls carved in wood to the precisely defined feathers of the wings, testifies to the high level of craftsmanship.
This work is made entirely of maple wood, the material favored by Dolfi carvers for sculptures up to 56 cm. Maple wood ensures exceptional detail rendition, essential for replicating the delicacy of the features. The sculpture is available in different finishes, from classic color (C) to natural wood (N) or with precious brown shades (3G), all performed and finished by hand by our master artisans from Val Gardena.
