An anthem to joy and celestial harmony, this exquisite Dolfi sculpture captures a winged putto in a moment of pure melody. The figure is portrayed in a dynamic, weightless pose, suggesting an ethereal flight as the cherub brings a small wind instrument to its lips. The serene, focused expression is enhanced by meticulous painting, giving the sculpture a unique tactile and visual depth.
The colour details are exceptionally refined: the smooth, matte complexion with subtle rosy tones contrasts with the vibrant gilding of the wings and lower drapery, carefully finished by hand in a warm, satin tone. An elegant antique-rose drape wraps around the shoulder, adding a touch of grace. Every element, from the voluminous curls carved in the wood to the precisely defined feathers of the wings, bears witness to a high level of mastery.
This work is made entirely from maple wood, the preferred material of Dolfi carvers for sculptures up to 56 cm. Maple ensures exceptional detail rendering, essential for reproducing the delicacy of the features. The sculpture is available in several finishes, from classic Colorato (C) to Natural Wood (N) and precious brown shades (3G), all applied and finished by hand by our master artisans in Val Gardena.
