Description

This imposing representation of Saint Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, affectionately known as Padre Pio, is a sculpture that immediately conveys a sense of deep serenity and devotion. The work portrays him standing, enveloped in his Franciscan habit, with a benevolent and contemplative gaze.

Every element is meticulously crafted: from the gesture of his left hand, raised in a sign of welcome and blessing, to the rosary clutched in his right. The most sacred details, such as the purple stole and the Holy Stigmata visible on his palms and feet, are rendered with impressive fidelity, evoking his extraordinary union with the Passion of Christ.

Made of Fiberglass (available in colored FC and white FN finishes) for the large size of 120 cm, this statue guarantees superior strength and stability, while maintaining the precision and elegance typical of Val Gardena craftsmanship. The colored finish accentuates the volumes and simulated wood texture, making Padre Pio a majestic focal point for prayer and meditation.

Detail & Meaning
The Saint of Pietrelcina is depicted with the attributes that made him famous throughout the world: the Capuchin habit and the rosary, a symbol of his incessant prayer. The gesture of the raised hand is not only a greeting, but an invitation to faith and spiritual comfort. The iconographic focal point is the Holy Stigmata on his hands and feet, visible representations of his profound mystical identification with the Passion of Christ, which make him a powerful symbol of intercession and redemptive suffering.
Story
Francesco Forgione, born in Pietrelcina in 1887, became Padre Pio after joining the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. His life was marked by extraordinary mystical phenomena, culminating in the reception of the Stigmata in 1918, in San Giovanni Rotondo. He became a global icon of faith thanks to his spiritual gifts, the spiritual guidance of thousands of faithful, and the founding of the "Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza" (Home for the Relief of Suffering). He died in 1968 and was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2002, establishing himself as one of the most loved and venerated Saints in the modern world.
