Sebbene la tradizione del coniglietto pasquale (Osterhase) abbia origini prevalentemente germaniche e sia legata alla leggenda della lepre che nasconde le uova, la sua rappresentazione nella scultura in legno si inserisce perfettamente nella secolare arte della Val Gardena. Fin dal XVII secolo, questa valle alpina è stata rinomata per i suoi intagliatori, che trasformavano i semplici legni locali in figure sacre e, successivamente, anche in soggetti profani e decorativi di alta qualità. Questo coniglietto rappresenta un ponte tra la tradizione popolare festiva e l'eccellenza artigianale altoatesina, portando nelle case non solo un simbolo pasquale, ma un pezzo autentico della storia scultorea dolomitica.
