Description

Let yourselves be enveloped by the timeless magic of Christmas with this exclusive teardrop-shaped ornament, a miniature work of art that combines the simplicity of nature with the sculptural skill of Val Gardena.

This precious pendant captures the essence of the Nativity in a stunning setting. The central scene of the Holy Family — Mary, Joseph, and the Baby Jesus — is carved as a delicate silhouette in light wood, enhanced by the presence of a luminous comet star. The precision carving contrasts beautifully with the rustic outer frame, made by preserving the natural bark. This duality between the rough bark and the refined inner carving makes each piece a unique masterpiece of visual balance.

Made entirely following our centuries-old artisan tradition, the ornament is carved from precious maple wood, the historically preferred material for small sculptures (9 cm), ensuring impeccable and lasting definition of the smallest details. Perfect for decorating your tree with a touch of authentic South Tyrolean spirituality or for enriching your collection of miniature nativity scenes.

Detail & Meaning
1) Iconographic and symbolic elements: Holy Family (Jesus, Mary, Joseph), Nativity, drop (shape), bark wood (material).
2) Religious meaning: The Holy Family represents the founding core of Christianity and the incarnation of God. The Nativity symbolizes the birth of Christ and the beginning of salvation. The drop shape may recall baptismal water or purity. The bark wood evokes naturalness, humility and divine creation.
Story
Saint Valentine, bishop and martyr, is venerated as the patron saint of lovers and protector of unions. His story is intertwined with the Roman tradition of the 3rd century AD, when, according to legend, he celebrated marriages in secret for soldiers, contravening the imperial edict that forbade them to marry. He was imprisoned and, before his execution, it is said that he healed his jailer's blind daughter, sending her a message signed "from your Valentine". His feast day, February 14, has become a universal symbol of love and affection.
