La tradizione dell'artigianato del legno in Val Gardena affonda le sue radici nel XVII secolo. L'incisione a caldo, utilizzata per personalizzare e arricchire oggetti e pannelli, è una pratica complementare e secolare che permette di fissare nel legno l'identità culturale. I soggetti prediletti sono sempre stati quelli legati alla vita alpina e ai paesaggi locali, mantenendo viva la narrazione e l'amore per il territorio dolomitico attraverso una forma d'arte che richiede pazienza e mano ferma.
