This majestic sculpture of Jesus Christ Crucified, inspired by the Baroque style, captures the culminating moment of the Passion with dramatic intensity and refined mastery. Christ's emaciated body is sculpted with realistic details, from prominent ribs to bleeding wounds, while his head, crowned with thorns, surrenders in an expression of deep suffering and redemption.
The work stands out for its rich polychromy: the blue and light blue loincloth features an elaborate drapery, enriched with precious details reminiscent of gold leaf. The Latin cross, in a dark brown that enhances its contrast, is surmounted by the INRI scroll in a brilliant golden finish. Each piece is entirely carved and hand-painted by our master craftsmen from Val Gardena, heirs to a centuries-old tradition.
To ensure maximum fidelity and sculptural quality, this statue is made of maple wood for sizes up to 56 cm, renowned for its fine grain and ability to capture the smallest details. For more imposing dimensions, starting from 60 cm, we use sturdy linden wood, ideal for guaranteeing stability and magnificence to large-scale works.
