The sculpture of Saint Bernadette captures a moment of pure and serene devotion. The figure is depicted kneeling, with her blue gaze and expression of wonder directed upwards, a gesture that expresses the depth of her spiritual encounter. The skill of the Val Gardena sculptors is evident in the harmony of the composition, the definition of the folds of the garments, and the precision of anatomical details, such as the carefully carved hands.
The traditional garments are expertly rendered: the defined folds of the terracotta-colored dress and the whiteness of the apron and head covering create a delicate visual contrast. The colored (C), matte, and carefully shaded finish enhances the modeling, lending a moving realism to the posture and expression. Each piece is entirely hand-carved and painted by our expert artisans, guaranteeing a unique sacred work of art.
This precious work is made of high-quality solid wood. As it is available in a wide range of sizes, a careful selection of woods is used: fine and compact maple wood is used for sizes up to 56 cm. For large sculptures (from 56 cm upwards), linden wood is used, chosen for its lightness and structural resistance. The sculpture is also available in natural (N) finishes and with three shades of brown (3G).
