The Infant Jesus of Prague is a masterpiece of devotion and craftsmanship, capturing the regal dignity of the Infant in a vibrant and richly decorated sculpture. This sacred work of art immediately stands out for its sumptuous cherry-red robe, whose matte finish beautifully contrasts with the complex and stylized floral motifs and brilliant gold flourishes.
Every detail is the fruit of the skilled hands of our sculptor and painter artists from Val Gardena: from the elaborate crown to the ruffled collar and white cuffs. The Infant, with a serene and direct gaze aimed at the observer, raises his right hand in a gesture of blessing, offering protection, while his left hand holds the orb and cross, a symbol of his kingship over the world.
This precious statue is entirely handmade and hand-painted according to the South Tyrolean artisanal tradition. To ensure maximum fidelity of detail and durability in every size, the sculpture is made of maple wood for smaller sizes (up to 56 cm) and fine linden wood for larger sizes. The "C - Colored maple wood" finish enhances the vibrancy of the pigments used, offering a polychrome statue of extraordinary emotional and spiritual impact.
