Cuckoo clock made of dark walnut wood depicting two sparrows in love. The cuckoo clock has a daily mechanism and is wound manually by pulling the pine cones that act as a pendulum. Originally from the Black Forest, this cuckoo clock weighs 2.3 kg and its dimensions are 18 cm × 25 cm × 40 cm. It is equipped with a switch for switching off at night.

<p>Le origini della pendola a cucù sono storicamente legate alla regione della Foresta Nera in Germania. Documenti e studi ne attestano la diffusione già a partire dal XVIII secolo, elevandola rapidamente a un simbolo di precisione meccanica popolare. Sebbene il meccanismo del cucù sia intrinsecamente tedesco, l'arte dell'intaglio della cassa trova la sua massima espressione in Alto Adige.</p><p>La Val Gardena, celebre per la sua tradizione scultorea in legno fin dal Seicento, ha abbracciato e reinterpretato questo oggetto. I maestri artigiani gardenesi hanno trasformato la semplice cassa in una complessa scultura tridimensionale, applicando i dettagli naturalistici, la profondità e l'eccellenza stilistica tipici della loro arte per creare orologi unici che sono allo stesso tempo strumenti di misurazione del tempo e opere d'arte lignee.</p>
