The entire structure is expertly crafted to frame the internal scene through a wide, smooth and well-defined front arch. Inside, against a background that recreates a stylized profile of fir trees, the carved scene unfolds with two graceful deer figures. The two figures, one in the foreground and the other with antlers slightly further back, face outwards, symbolizing vigilance and serenity.
The deer figures and the internal light wood structure are crafted, according to the sculptural excellence of Val Gardena, from precious maple wood. This wood is known for its fine grain and ideal predisposition for precision carving for works of these dimensions (14 cm). The light finish enhances the natural beauty of the grain.
